Raja Singh urges govt. to drop construction of new OGH at police stadium
Hyderabad: BJP MLA T Raja Singh here on Tuesday requested the State government to drop the plan of constructing a new Osmania General Hospital (OGH) at the Telangana police stadium in Goshamahal in view of problems to be faced by local residents.
Speaking in the Assembly, he wondered why the State government was unable to utilize the open land behind the OGH instead of taking up construction work in the stadium. He brought to the notice of the Assembly the protests being organized by the residents opposing the construction of new OGH.
Raja Singh explained that the stadium was already facing traffic problems and if the OGH was constructed then the traffic woes of the entire area would further compound causing inconvenience to residents. A large number of morning walkers utilize the stadium in the morning and evening for walking.
Hundreds of teenagers play cricket in the same premises during holidays and apart from organizing religious programmes. In view of the requests of local residents, the state government must drop the plan of constructing the OGH in the stadium and take it up in the open land in the existing OGH.
