Hyderabad: The Tirupati Collector has submitted a report on the stampede incident to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu that occurred on Thursday during the issuance of tokens for the Vaikunta Dwara Darshanam. The report identifies the over-enthusiasm of the Deputy Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) posted at the site as the primary cause of the stampede. It also highlights that the DSP failed to respond appropriately in the aftermath of the incident.

The report further mentions that the ambulance driver, who had parked the ambulance at the location, left the scene and unavailable for about 20 minutes, contributing to the delay in providing immediate assistance. The stampede occurred due to the combined negligence of both the DSP and the ambulance crew, the report stated.
The tragic incident, which took place during the issuance of tokens for the Slotted Sarva Darshanam in view of Vaikuntha Ekadasi, resulted in the deaths of seven devotees. The large crowd of devotees at the token distribution point led to the chaos
