Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy held a high-level review meeting to address Hyderabad's growing drinking water needs. Officials from the Irrigation Department and Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board attended the meeting, where the focus was on transferring 20 TMC of water from the Godavari River to meet the city's increasing demand.

The Chief Minister directed officials to prepare a comprehensive report on lifting Godavari water from Kondapochamma and Mallanna Sagar reservoirs. He also emphasized the need for detailed cost assessments and water availability studies for each reservoir. To expedite the project, he instructed authorities to begin tender procedures by early next month and work closely with Mission Bhagiratha for smooth implementation.

Principal Secretary to the Municipal Administration Department Dana Kishore, Water Board MD Ashok Reddy, and Irrigation Secretary Prashant J. Patil, among others, participated in the discussion.

In a separate meeting, the Chief Minister reviewed preparations for the "Rythu Sadassu" (Farmers' Conference), scheduled for November 30 in Mahbubnagar as part of the Victory Celebrations of the People's Government. Agriculture Minister T. Nageshwara Rao and other officials attended.

The CM instructed officials to ensure robust arrangements for the participation of farmers from across Telangana. He emphasized that the event should focus on raising awareness among the farming community rather than functioning as a public meeting.

The conference will feature stalls set up by Agriculture, Horticulture, and Animal Husbandry Departments to educate farmers on advanced agricultural practices and new technologies. Displays will include innovative crop varieties, oil palm products, electric tractors, drones, and other modern equipment. Demonstrations will highlight their benefits to farmers.

Revanth Reddy called for a three-day event starting November 28, with all stalls open to provide Telangana farmers insights into evolving agricultural practices nationwide.

During the meeting, officials informed the CM about the state government’s farm loan waiver initiative, which has benefitted 23 lakh farmers by clearing loans up to ₹2 lakh. A report on grievances related to Aadhaar errors, name mismatches, and family verification in the scheme was also submitted.

CM Advisor Vem Narender Reddy, MP Ch. Kiran Kumar Reddy, MLA Sudarshan Reddy, CMO Special Secretary Chandrasekhar Reddy, and Principal Secretary Agriculture Raghunandan Rao were present at the review meeting.
