SC relief not to stop probe against Mohan Babu: DCP
Mohan Babu approached the apex court after the High Court rejected his petition for anticipatory bail
HYDERABAD: Although, the Supreme Court has given some relief to actor Mohan Babu in connection with the attempt to murder case registered against him, DCP Sunitha Reddy confirmed that the order does not bar further investigation, which, she said, would continue.
Attempt to murder case was slapped against the actor in the first week of December by the victim, a journalist, followed by an altercation at Jalpally township.
Mohan Babu approached the apex court after the High Court rejected his petition for anticipatory bail. Meanwhile, the police are gathering medical records of the victim as evidence. Since the actor had also claimed that he had also suffered injuries and was undergoing home treatment, all those records are also being gathered. A source added that the actor is currently at his residence in Tirupati and notices will be served to him asking him to appear for questioning whenever his presence was needed.
Additionally, two other cases were registered by Manchu Manoj and Mohan Babu stating that following the attack by unidentified individuals, they fear for his life and the safety of the property and valuables. The source added that the two cases are also being investigated and statements are being recorded.
