SC, ST Commission visits Lagcharla

Hyderabad:Telangana SC and ST Commission chairman G. Venkataiah and other officials visited Lagcharla and Rotibanda on Monday and collected information from villagers on the arrests that took place following the attack on Vikarabad collector Prateek Jain.

The police registered three cases and arrested 20 persons, including the BRS former MLA Patnam Narender Reddy, in connection with the incident.

The commission’s visit followed lodging of complaints by the villagers, who alleged that they were subjected to harassment and illegal arrests.

The commission told the locals that it would write to the government not to harass innocent people and action to be initiated against those who indulged in offences.
