Hyderabad: Cyberabad Police have imposed Section 144 in the Miyapur area following a gathering of thousands of people on a government land parcel in Survey Nos. 100 and 101, spanning around 600 acres and valued at crores of rupees.

A heavy police force has been deployed at the site to prevent further protests. The prohibitory orders will be effective from 6 AM on June 23 to 11 PM on June 29 within the limits of Miyapur and Chandanagar Police Stations under Cyberabad Police Commissionerate, as per a notification from the police.

The order prohibits gatherings of five or more people in those specified areas and restricts entry to those who do not ordinarily reside or work there. Except police officers, military personnel, home guards on duty, funeral processions, and marriage functions.

Several people from Hyderabad's neighboring districts, who thronged the place, demanded that as they were denied 2BHK houses during BRS regime, they now wanted to build their houses on the Miyapur land.
Incidentally, some of the protestors have built a temple, temporary huts and set up stalls in the area.
