Secunderabad: Inter-state property offender arrested, gold recovered
Railway police seized 265 grams of gold ornaments worth Rs 21,00,000
Hyderabad: Special team government railway protection (GRP) Secunderabad along with RPF staff arrested an interstate property offender and recovered 26.5 tula gold worth Rs 21 lakhs on Thursday. The arrested accused was wanted in four offences that he had committed in Secunderabad division.
Accused identified as Ranveer Singh (48) a driver resident native of north west Delhi and accused Samsheer, Satveer, Jagadeesh and Sumit all from Haryana are absconding.
The gang leader Ranveer Singh after his release from Delhi prison formed a gang with his associates and started committing thefts of the railway passengers in trains and railway stations in Rajasthan, Karnataka, S N Jawed, DSRP Secunderabad division, disclosed in a press meet on Thursday.
The accused targeted railway passengers and only committed thefts of gold and silver jewellery, later they managed to melt the stolen jewellery sold to goldsmiths in other states evading from being identified, Jawed said.
Our teams arrested the accused Ranveer Singh at 7 hours while he was attempting to commit a theft at platform number -1 of Secunderabad railway station, DSP said.

The accused along with seized property was produced before court for judicial remand and a special team was formed to arrest the accused who are at large, railway police said.
