Senior citizen held for committing burglaries in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police on Saturday arrested a senior citizen for committing house burglaries in twin cities.
The arrested has been identified as Asif Ali Syed (66), a tea stall worker and resident of Hashamabad in Bandlaguda. He belonged to Munipara in West Bengal. He was allegedly involved in burglaries that took place at Chaderghat and Habeebnagar, said Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Task Force, Ande Srinivasa Rao.
Seventy-five grams of gold ornaments, four wrist watches, a screwdriver and a mobile phone, all worth over Rs.5.92 lakh were recovered from the possession of the arrested person. Syed while working in a tea stall habituated to luxurious life and to meet his expenditures he started committing thefts.
Previously, he was involved in 11 house burglaries and in one case he got a conviction for five years. After being released from jail, he came to Hyderabad and started working in tea stall as a helper, as he was habituated to a lavish life, his earnings were insufficient to support his expenditures.
To meet his expenditures, he hatched a plan to commit thefts. After committing offences, he used to go to his residence with stolen property to disposing of the booty to fulfill his needs and maintain his lifestyle. The police worked out clues technically and apprehended him.
