Sircilla Parents kill mentally affected daughter, held
Hyderabad: The Sircilla district police arrested a couple for allegedly killing their daughter for suffering from mental illness.
District Superintendent of Police Akhil Mahajan, interacting with media persons, said the couple identified as Chepyala Narsaiah and Yellavva from Nerella village in Thangallapalli mandal in Sircilla, were remanded to judicial custody after being arrested on Sunday.
Accroding to the police, Priyanka (25), daughter of Chepyala Narsaiah and Yellavva from Nerella village in Thangallapalli mandal, Sircilla district, had been suffering from mental disorders. She was taken to hospitals and temples for treatment and showed improvement. She got married in 2020 to Prudhvi, who is hailing fron Dargapalli of Siddipet district. The couple have been living in Saptagiri in Karimnagar. They have a 13-year-old son.
Recently, her husband informed her parents that she was experiencing a relapse, causing disturbances in the neighborhood and family.
Her parents took her to the Buggarajeshwara Swamy temple, where she stayed for three days, but her condition did not improve.
Frustrated parents hanged her with a rope on May 14, attempting to pass off her death as caused by black magic from her mother-in-law, and performed last rites on May 15 .
Suspicious villagers reported the incident to the police. Upon investigation, the parents confessed to the crime, admitting they had killed their daughter.
