St.Pious Students Gain Insights on Studying in US

Hyderabad: Students from St Pious X College and other institutions aspiring to study in the United States gained insights at a panel discussion hosted by the US Consulate on Monday. Centred on ‘International Education Opportunities and Benefits,’ the event brought together officials to guide students through the journey of pursuing higher education abroad.

Jorgan Andrews, deputy chief of mission from New Delhi, shared essential advice on the complexities of the US education system and to demystify the process.

Addressing the attendees, Jennifer Larson, Consul General at the US Consulate in Hyderabad, offered her best wishes for their future studies overseas. She also stressed on importance of such events in connecting educational opportunities between nations.

The panel featured experts including Emilia Smith, public diplomacy officer; Beulah Supriya, resource assistant; and Aritraa Lahiri, an advisor from education US. They tackled a range of topics crucial for prospective international students.

Discussions covered an overview of the US education landscape, detailing application procedures and standard processes. Information on scholarships like the Fulbright programme and other financial aid options was provided. Practical advice on the visa application process and regulations was shared to help students prepare for administrative requirements. Additionally, the panellists offered tips on cultural adaptation, student life and networking.
