Hyderabad: The Telangana Task Force inspected Mehfil Biryani Darbar, Narayanguda, and Mubarak Arabian Mandi House in Kacheguda on Tuesday and found major hygiene violations.

At Mehfil Biryani Darbar in Narayanguda, inspectors found no medical records or FSSAI-mandated FOSTAC certificates for food handlers. The kitchen was in poor condition with greasy walls, clogged drains, stagnant water, and scattered food waste. Refrigerators were improperly labelled, and food was stored directly on the floor. The task force recommended purchasing a Total Polar Compound (TPC) meter to monitor oil quality and improving storage practices by maintaining adequate gaps between racks and walls.

Mubarak Arabian Mandi House in Kacheguda faced similar issues, including missing pest control and water analysis records. Inspectors found synthetic food colours being used, raw chicken stored uncovered over a drain, and a littered kitchen floor. Additional violations included dirty aprons worn by staff, uncovered dustbins, and improper storage of vegetarian and non-vegetarian items together in refrigerators. The storage area also had a damaged ceiling, exposed light fixtures, and non-insect-proofed windows.
