Telangana CM gets additional security following possible threats

The Intelligence Security Wing (ISW) officials, who provide security to public representatives, including VVIPs, reviewed the security of the Chief Minister keeping in view possible threats after protests by opposition leaders and the suspected movements of anti-social elements.

Sources said that ISW will deploy additional security for Reddy during his tours to districts and public meetings in Hyderabad.  "Of late, the Chief Minister is mingling with the general public during events and public meetings. As a result, we have reviewed the security aspects and possible threats. We have decided to increase security cover by deploying men and women personnel. Female officers in safari will also handle situations when a large number of women meet the Chief Minister during public meetings," the sources said.

For instance, the Chief Minister visited the NTR marg and Tank Bund to meet devotees who were squatted during the Ganesh idol immersion. Sources stated that ISW personnel are being given training that is on par with the SPG commandos. The Z plus security cover for Reddy comprises more than 55 security personnel. Additionally, CRPF commandos accompany the regular ISW personnel 24x7.
