Hyderabad: The Congress has defended Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy's tour of the US, rebuffing criticism from BRS leaders Balka Suman and Manne Krishank. Transport minister Ponnam Prabhakar and AICC secretary S.A. Sampath Kumar addressed the media at Gandhi Bhavan, countering allegations from the BRS that the visit was politically motivated.
Sampath Kumar attributed the BRS leaders' comments to their "despair of defeat." He dismissed claims that Revanth Reddy's family was influencing his decisions, asserting that these accusations were baseless.

Sampath Kumar said there appeared to be a rift within BRS leadership, noting that BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao had supported the visit. He contrasted the Congress' approach with that of the BRS, accusing K. Chandrashekar Rao's family of expanding their influence in Telangana, while Revanth Reddy had kept his family out of governance.

Minister Prabhakar criticised the BRS for undermining the Congress government's efforts, defending the CM's visit as an official mission with the aim of securing investments. He condemned Opposition attempts to derail the government's progress and criticised Rama Rao's foreign trips, suggesting they failed to benefit Telangana.
