Telangana: CPM Asks State to Listen to Opposition
Yaddari-Bhongir: CPM state secretary Tammineni Veerabhadram on Monday called on the Telangana state government to incorporate Opposition parties' suggestions into the HYDRAA project and Musi River rejuvenation plans.
Addressing the media during the party’s district general body meeting in Choutuppal, Veerabhadram criticised the Congress for celebrating its one-year rule, urging the party to introspect. He demanded that the Congress government disclose the measures it has taken to resolve public issues and highlighted its failure to implement key promises such as the Rythu Bharosa scheme and unemployment incentives.
Veerabhadram also urged the state government to cancel agreements with the Adani Group, alleging there is little difference between the policies of the Congress and the BRS governments, both of which he accused of suppressing dissent.
“We are not calling for this government to step down and for another political party to take power. Instead, the Congress government should correct its mistakes and deliver effective governance,” he stated.
He reiterated CPM’s Opposition to the BJP-led Central government’s "one nation-one election" proposal, arguing that it violates the spirit of the Indian Constitution, undermines the federal structure, and weakens state autonomy. Veerabhadram emphasised CPM's commitment to safeguarding constitutional values and strengthening state rights.
