HYDERABAD: The Telangana Federation of Senior Citizens Organisations on Thursday unanimously supported the government’s mission to protect lakes. Led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and HYDRAA commissioner A.V. Ranganath, the initiative addresses encroachments, ensuring proper water flow and preventing flooding in residential areas, the federation noted.

The meeting attended by adviser M. Suryanarayana, S. Gyaneshwar, B.N.V.V. Krishna Prasad, S. Sada Niranjan, K. Papireddy, B. Ramchandraiah, G. Prasada Rao. said that the properties violating the rules may be confiscated and prosecution launched against them. The federation also demanded that the authorities who granted permission for construction of such buildings face action.
