Hyderabad: Telangana Government Pensioners Joint Action Committee urged the Chief Secretary A Shanthi Kumari to clear their pension benefits at the earliest.

In a memorandum submitted to her, Committee Chairman K Laxmaiah said several hundreds of government employees retired in the recent years after attaining the age of superannuation. Their pension benefits have not been paid till today for the reason not known.

“After waiting for a long time, a retired senior superintendent, Annapurna of Shadnagar, approached Telangana High Court, which ordered that she be paid all the pension benefits within six weeks from the receipt of order with 24 per cent of interest,” he said.

“Keeping in view the court order, the committee requested the Chief Secretary to initiate necessary steps for paying pension benefits without any loss of time for which kind act, we will be grateful to you,” Laxmaiah added.
