Telangana govt. releases 5% interim relief for employees

Hyderabad: The state government on Friday released pending interim relief (IR) of five per cent for state level public enterprises, cooperative societies and non-teaching staff of universities. The relief is also applicable to pensioners of these institutions.

The BRS after constituting a second pay revision commission on October 2, 2023, ahead of the Assembly polls, paid interim relief of five per cent, The benefit was not extended to the public sector employees.

The GO issued on Friday said the orders were issued sanctioning interim relief to all government employees/pensioners, including the employees of the local bodies (panchayat raj and urban local bodies) and government institutions receiving grants-in-aid and work-charged employees who are drawing pay in the revised scales, 2020.

The Telangana Public Sector Employees Federation, including chairman Balakrishna, general secretary G.T. Jeevan, working president Gavva Ravinder Reddy and co-chairman Satyanarayana, thanked Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on releasing the much-awaited relief.
