HYDERABAD: Chandrashekhar Vege and Raja Sekhar Talasilla, co-accused along with former DCP Radha Kishan Rao in a case of kidnapping and `100-crore extortion from Venu Madhav Chennupati, 60 per cent share holder in Kria Healthcare Ltd, approached the Telangana High Court to restrain the Hyderabad police from harassing and arresting them.

Vege and Talasilla, who were associated with Kira Healthcare, requested the High Court to quash the FIR registered against them by the Jubilee Hills police on Chennupati’s complaint.

They said that Chennupati had borrowed money from them and evaded repayment. The issue was from 2018 and the Jubilee Hills police had registered the case in April 2024.

According to Venu Madhav, he was abducted on November 22, 2018, at Khajaguda by the task force police and taken to the DCP’s office where Radha Kishan Rao, Vege and Talasilla forced him at gunpoint to transfer his shares, worth around `100 crore.

With Radha Kishan Rao was arrested in the phone-tapping case recently, Venu Madhav lodged a complaint with the Jubilee Hills police on April 8. The police registered fresh cases against Radha Kishan Rao, Vege, Talasilla and others under the IPC Sections for extortion, kidnap, wrongful restraint and criminal conspiracy.

The vacation bench of the Telangana High Court headed by Justice B. Vijaysen Reddy heard both the petitions and directed the police to not arrest Vege and Talasilla till June 20 and directed the police to file their counters.
