Telangana: International Day of Indigenous Peoples Celebrated
Adilabad: Adivasis celebrated the international day of World’s Indigenous Peoples with fervour and gaiety across erstwhile Adilabad district on Friday. District officials organized the event in their respective districts.
Adivasis took out a massive rally in Adilabad town which was attended by a large number of Adivasi women. Thudum Debba garlanded the Komaram Bheem’s statue in the chowrasta. Adivasi leaders and district officials garlanded other Adivasi legends Marsakola Ramji Gond, Kolam Suru and Ramu.
The event was celebrated at Jodeghat and adivasis sang their traditional songs and danced to the drum beats in the Komaram Bheem Museum. Komaram Bheem’s grandson Komaram Sonerao garlanded the statue of Komaram Bheem at Jodeghat. Boath MLA Anil Jadhav participated in the celebrations in Neredigonda.
Adivasis performed their traditional skits and dances like Gussadis and Laxmidevara. Khanapur MLA Vedma Bojju participated in the celebrations in Utnoor while Asifabad MLA Kova Laxmi and former MLA Atram Sakku participated in the celebrations in Asifabad.
Adilabad collector Rajarshi Shah, SP Gause Alam, Asifabad collector Venkatesh Dhotre and ITDA project officer Khushbhoo Guptha participated in the celebrations.
