Telangana: Left canal of Nagarjuna Sagar breached at Ramachandrapuram

Suryapet: Left canal of Nagarjuna Sagar Project (NSP) was breached at Ramachandrapuram of Nadigudem mandal in the district.

Crops in hundreds of acres have been submerged in the waters due to breach to NS left canal. Due to incessant rains and high flow of water in the canal was resulted in breach.

There was chances for submerge of Madavaram, Sithla thanda, Magi thanda and Rajapet due to breach to NS left canal.

After the breach, the officials of irrigation department stopped the release of water to the left canal. The officials were also rushed to Ramachandrapuram and take up repairing works on warfoot. Sand filled pockets were placed at the breach to the canal to stop the water.
