KARIMNAGAR: In a bid to combat unemployment in rural areas, Government Chief Whip and Vemulawada MLA Aadi Srinivas launched the rural employment guarantee scheme on Saturday at Rudravaram village. The initiative aims to provide jobs to local residents in regions most affected by job scarcity.
During the launch, Srinivas paid homage to the legacy of welfare schemes implemented by the Congress, including the Employment Guarantee Scheme introduced by former prime minister Manmohan Singh. Under the current government’s plan, over 3,500 labourers will receive 100 days of employment at wages exceeding Rs 300 per day. To ensure inclusive participation, the government has committed to issuing job cards to all eligible individuals who do not already possess one.
Highlighting ongoing development efforts, Srinivas also announced the approval of four new substations with an investment of Rs 13.66 crore, to enhance electricity supply for farmers. Additional measures include the provision of subsidised rice to economically disadvantaged citizens.
