Electric Luxury Buses on Telangana Roads Soon

Hyderabad: The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) is introducing electric super luxury buses in the state. The TSRTC has decided to operate these electric luxury buses on the Karimnagar-Hyderabad and Nizamabad-Hyderabad routes as part of the first phase. The buses, named e-Super Luxury, will enhance travel comfort while being eco-friendly.
According to a senior official, 35 buses have arrived at the Karimnagar-2 depot and 13 buses have reached the Nizamabad bus depot. TSRTC is procuring these electric buses on a rental basis. Currently, TGSRTC operates electric buses within Hyderabad city and for interstate services between Hyderabad and Vijayawada. This will be the first introduction of the e-Super Luxury buses.
RTC sources indicated that Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar will soon launch the new buses. The drivers of these buses will be employed by the manufacturing companies, while the conductors will be from TGSRTC. The corporation will pay rent based on the number of kilometers traveled.
