Three, Including a Nigerian, Arrested With Drugs Worth Rs.1.10 Crore

Hyderabad:In a joint operation, a HNEW team and Banjara Hills police arrested three drug peddlers, including a Nigerian, and seized multiple NDPS drugs weighing 256 grams worth a staggering `1.10 crore.

The supplier has been identified as Ofozor Sunday Ejike alias Frank (42), a Nigerian national residing in Bangalore, and peddler Anas Khan alias Anas, (31) a Madhya Pradesh native staying in Rajendranagar. The delivery boy Saif Khan, alias Saif, (27) is also from MP and resides in Rajendranagar.

With a diploma in chemical engineering, Ejike came to India on a sports visa in 2016, said city police commissioner Kothakota Sreenivasa Reddy here on Wednesday.

A footballer with the All Stars African Sport Club at New Delhi, he shifted to Bangalore two years later. He came in touch with a fellow-Nigerian, who used to supply contraband. Ejike entered the drug trade soon thereafter, Reddy said.

Anas Khan, a drug addict turned peddler, moved to Hyderabad after developing friendship with Nigerians in Bangalore.

Police seized 36 gm of cocaine, 140 gm of MDMA, nine Ecstasy pills, six LSD bolts, 32 gm charas, 41 gm Meow-meow, a car, weighing machines and five mobile phones from the accused.

Meanwhile, Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (HNEW) has urged the general public to inform them if they come across drug abuse on mobile number 8712661601.
