Adilabad: Farmers and agriculture workers were scared to visit agriculture fields for weeding and other operations in cotton, soya and red gram crops due to the tiger movement in the Kerameri mandal of Komaram Bheem Asifabad district. They appealed to forest officials to take measures to trap the tiger on the loose for their safety.

The police and forest departments alerted the people about the tiger movements in the mandal. A farmer, Anand Rao of Kerameri mandal, said that many farmers were forced to postpone spraying pesticides and applying fertilisers to their crops and workers were scared to come to work due to the tiger movements and expressed concern about the potential crop loss if the tiger did not go back to its original habitat in Maharashtra.
It is found that the migrated tiger was moving in the agriculture fields located on the fringes of the forests in a few villages in Asifabad, Kerameri, Tiryani and Kagaznagar mandals in the Komaram Bheem Asifabad district.
On the other hand, the safety of migrated tigers has become a cause of concern after the death of two tigers in Kagaznagar mandal a few months ago. Subsequently, a tiger family was disturbed after two of its members were killed, leading to the suspension of three forest staffers for negligence in duty.
On November 29, 2020, a 15-year-old girl was killed by a tiger while she was picking cotton at Kondapalli village in Penchikalpet mandal
while an Adivasi man Sidam Bheem, 69, of Khanapur in Chowpanguda gram panchayat of Wankidi mandal was killed in a tiger attack in his field on November 15, 2022.
