ADILABAD: TPCC president B. Mahesh Kumar Goud called for efforts to strengthen the Congress from booth level to state level, ensuring streamlined operations. Goud spoke about his coordination with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, describing their partnership as a “Jodedlu” (a pair of well-coordinated bullocks) working together to fulfil promises and advance state welfare.

In an exclusive interview with Deccan Chronicle, Goud discussed party strategies and development goals:

What are your plans for the ensuing elections for local bodies?

Committees will be formed in February to identify candidates for local body elections, considering seniority, contributions to the party, and rapport with local communities. Local leaders' opinions will also influence final decisions on candidates for Sarpanch, MPTC, ZPTC, and municipal elections.

What about the coordination of the TPCC president with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy?

Relationship with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is collaborative, prioritising party unity over individual prestige. Together, we aim to resolve differences between senior and newly joined leaders for the party's broader interests.

Any steps to strengthen the party in the erstwhile Adilabad district?

The Congress is working to regain its former dominance in the Adilabad region, aiming to win all MLA and MP seats in upcoming elections. Efforts include grassroots strengthening and presenting this achievement as a gift to Rahul Gandhi.

What about the development of Telangana?

It is important for balanced development across Telangana, beyond Hyderabad. Projects like the Warangal airport and proposed Adilabad airport underline this vision. Adilabad, with its rich mineral resources, cotton industry, and tourism potential, remains a development priority.
