TPCC lodges complaint against KTR for making derogatory remarks against Cong. candidate Mallanna
Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) here on Saturday requested Telangana Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Vikas Raj to use his good offices to take serious action against BRS working president KT Rama Rao for making unwarranted, derogatory and scathing remarks against the Congress candidate Teenmaar Mallanna alias Chinthapadnu Naveen Kumar in connection with Warangal-Naláonda- Khammam graduate MLC byelection.
In a letter addressed to CEO, TPCC senior vice-president Mallu Ravi said Rao made derogatory remarks during BRS party’s preparatory meeting held at Choutuppal on May 24. Rao said BRS candidate Rakesh Reddy studied in BITS Pilani and won gold medal apart from working in US for seven yęars and also, he is the son of a farmer.
Rao criticized Mallanna in a gratuitous and insulting manner by saying that Mallanna was a “Palli – Batani” and also stated that this election was between BITS Pilani and “Palli Batani”.
Ravi said Mallanna was a highly qualified person having a degree from Kakatiya University, Post Graduation (Journalism) from Osmania University and MBA from JNTU. “There is no need for Rao to use that type of derogatory word against our candidate,” he said.
Rao’s vocabulary will definitely attract Model Code of Conduct (MCC) violations of Election Commission of India (ECI) for insulting other candidates in the election fray. He insulted all the graduates of OU and KU varsities by comparing them with a private deemed university of Rajasthan, Ravi said.
