Two fire accidents in Attapur

Hyderabad:Firefighters in Rajendranagar division brought two fire accidents under control in Attapur on Monday. No casualties were reported in the incidents.

The first fire broke out in the morning at a private bus scrap godown on MM Pahadi Road causing `3 lakh-property damage. Rajendranagar fire division reached the spot and doused it with two extinguishers.

Within minutes the second fire was reported from Aramghar Chowrasta. The owner is absconding, the godowns contained huge quantities of scrap including the recent Diwali firecrackers.

The firefighters managed to stop the fire from spreading. There was a chance of it spreading as there is a timber depot, a fuel station and a car showroom nearby. Regional fire officer Harinath Reddy and director general of the Telangana State Disaster Response and Fire Services Y. Nagi Reddy monitored the situation.

Officials said the public panicked as dark smoke billowed from the area. The smoke was thick due to presence of potassium in the crackers.
