Vemulawada Temple to Shine with Annadana Satram, Special Darshans: Ponnam
Karimnagar: Several developmental projects started by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy at the Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy temple, popularly known as Dakshina Kashi, are progressing rapidly, said backward class welfare minister Ponnam Prabhakar on Monday.
Accompanied by government chief whips Aadi Srinivas and Adluri Laxman Kumar, the minister offered prayers to the temple’s presiding deities before addressing the media. He announced that a long-awaited permanent Annadana Satram is now in progress, with the Chief Minister sanctioning Rs 35 crore for its construction. The tender process for the project is currently underway.
A separate trust has been formed to ensure the Satram’s continuous operation, with Rs 20 crore already available. Prabhakar urged local representatives and influential individuals to help raise the fund to Rs 100 crore. He revealed that his family has donated Rs 40 lakh towards the initiative and encouraged devotees to contribute as well.
Devotees can make donations directly to the temple’s bank account through official receipts or contact local representatives and the temple's executive officer for assistance. Contributions in the form of rice and vegetables are also welcome through the Vemulawada Rajanna Annadana Trust. Prabhakar expressed confidence that, with the blessings of Vemulawada Rajanna, the Annadana Satram would thrive.
The minister also highlighted new facilities for devotees, including special darshan, Kode Mokku, and Abhishekam tickets, similar to those offered at the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam. Plans are also in place to establish a musical fountain prominently featuring Lord Shiva, akin to the one at Srisailam.
