Workshop Sheds Light on Using Statistics for Social Sciences

Hyderabad: A three-day workshop on the “Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS)” commenced on Monday, teaching participants from different parts of the country how to use SPSS for data management, advanced statistical analysis, and data visualisation. Held at the UGC-Malaviya Mission Teachers Training Centre (UGC-MMTTC) of Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), the workshop saw nearly 45 participants.

Speaking at the opening session, Director Prof. Saneem Fatima emphasised that research in social sciences now relies heavily on software tools, making the acquisition of SPSS skills essential for researchers.

Course coordinator Dr Meraj Ahmed Mubarki explained that the workshop would cover six key topics, including SPSS basics, descriptive statistics, advanced techniques, and research-specific applications. Experts from related fields will conduct the sessions. The workshop will end on January 8.
