Vizag will be the capital, asserts minister Dharmana
“The triumph will lead to Visakhapatnam becoming the capital of Andhra Pradesh,” he declared at a public meeting on the last day of election campaigning for the forthcoming elections
VISAKHAPATNAM: Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao on Saturday expressed confidence of YSRC triumphing in the upcoming AP assembly and Lok Sabha elections.
“The triumph will lead to Visakhapatnam becoming the capital of Andhra Pradesh,” he declared at a public meeting on the last day of election campaigning for the forthcoming elections.
Dharmana criticised the former government's decision to designate Amaravati as the capital. He described the decision as deceitful because Visakhapatnam, with its infrastructure and economic potential, should have been the natural choice as capital in place of Hyderabad.
The minister outlined plans for comprehensive growth in the north coastal region. He also highlighted investments in healthcare, education and infrastructure projects like the Tekkali deep-water sea port and expansion of RIMS with 900 beds in Srikakulam. He pointed out that a new airport city is coming near Bhogapuram, which will provide employment to many people.
