Nalgonda: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao on Tuesday appealed to graduate voters to support BRS candidate A. Rakesh Reddy in the byelection to the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda graduates constituency of the Legislative Council.

Speaking at a meeting in Lakshmi Gardens at Nalgonda, Rama Rao said Rakesh Reddy was well-educated and had returned to India after working for seven years in the US, to serve the people of the state. He has been in politics since 2013 and had since representatives with regard to youth affairs including unemployment, he said.

Rama Rao alleged that Congress candidate Chintakayala ‘Teenmar Mallanna’ Naveen, was facing 56 police cases and said educated people should never support such a candidate.

He criticised the Congress government for its decision to restrict the `500 bonus to paddy varieties for fine rice. He claimed the Congress had promised to offer the bonus to all varieties of paddy. It also failed to take up steps for filling up of vacant posts in last five months, he alleged.

Former ministers G. Jagadish Reddy and V. Srinivas Goud, BRS leaders R.S. Praveen Kumar and Kancherla Bhupal Reddy attended the meeting.
