YSR Statue, Campaign Vehicle Torched in Vemuru

Vijayawada/Kakinada: Miscreants burnt late chief minister Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy's statue in Vemuru constituency of Bapatla district on Saturday. The previous night, a YSRC campaigning vehicle belonging to former Rajamahendravaram MP Margani Bharat Ram got torched while it had been parked at his camp office on Friday night.

When people of Addepalli in Bhattiprolu mandal of Vemuru constituency noticed that the YSR statue in the village burning on Saturday, they immediately informed the YSRC leaders, police and fire department. The statue melted despite efforts to douse the flames.

In the other incident, unknown persons set afire a YSRC campaign vehicle belonging to former Rajamahendravaram Lok Sabha member Margani Bharat Ram on Friday night. The vehicle had been parked at the former MP’s camp office.

Speaking to media on Saturday, Bharat demanded that police hold an impartial probe and nab the accused. He said in case police fail to nab the accused within four days, he will decide on his future course of action.
