YSRC hopes to win assembly-LS polls, humble Naidu in Kuppam
Speaking to the media, Ramakrishna Reddy said, "Look at the voting pattern, I don't think it was an anti-government vote. YSRC’s traditional vote bank is on our side. We have confidence, not overconfidence”
VIJAYAWADA: YSRC general-secretary Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy has claimed that the party would sweep the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh.
“We will win the Kuppam assembly seat by defeating Telugu Desam candidate and party chief Chandrababu Naidu,” he said on Friday.
He said Chandrababu resorted to the attacks on the YSRC government and avoided speaking about the Telugu Desam's poll manifesto promises like free bus travel for women. “Naidu failed to promote Super Six because he knew the people did not believe in his false promises. Apart from Viveka's murder and the Land Title Act, Naidu did not have any agenda to present.”
Speaking to the media, Ramakrishna Reddy said, "Look at the voting pattern, I don't think it was an anti-government vote. YSRC’s traditional vote bank is on our side. We have confidence, not overconfidence.”
He said the TD was under the illusion that if the polling percentage increased, the ruling party would lose the polls.
Ramakrishna Reddy alleged that with the help of the Modi government, Chandrababu conspired to transfer some officers and this affected the poll-related security drills. Violence occurred in such places during and after the polls. “Had the Election Commission acted responsibly, such destructive riots and attacks would not have happened.”
He said Naidu made senseless allegations on the Land Title Act.
“It was very unfair for the police to be biased and have destroyed the furniture and CCTVs in MLA Kethireddy Pedda Reddy's house. Why did the police destroy the CCTV cameras in Peddareddy's house?”
He said, “I don't think there will be irregularities in the counting process. If there are, we will face it. We expect of the EC to act impartially. It would be better if the EC corrects its mistake."
