Antim Panghal To Get Three-year Ban for Disciplinary Breach at Paris Olympics: Report

Paris: Wrestler Antim Panghal will be banned for three years by the IOA for the disciplinary breach, reported PTI citing a source on Thursday.

"The decision will be formally announced after she reaches India," the contingent source said.
Following the disciplinary breach, where she he handed her official accreditation to her sister, the Indian Olympic Association decided to send Antim Panghal and her support staff back from Paris.
In a statement, the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) said that Antim Panghal and her support staff breached disciplinary rules, which was reported by French authorities.
"Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has decided to fly wrestler Antim Panghal and her support staff back after a disciplinary breach was brought to IOA’s notice by the French authorities," said an official statement.
French authorities raised a complaint with IOA that Antim Panghal gave her accreditation to her sister to help her enter the Olympic Games Village.
“Antim Panghal gave her accreditation to her sister to help her enter the Games Village on her accreditation. French authorities complained to the IOA, and that’s why she will be sent back to India with her support staff,” the statement added.
Antim Panghal lost to Turkey's Zeynep Yetgil in the women’s 53 kg freestyle round of 16 at the ongoing Olympic Games. The Turkish wrestler won on technical superiority.
