As Rohit-Virat bid adieu to T20Is, here are some best Ro-Ko moments

Hyderabad: As India clinched the ICC T20 World Cup trophy ending a 17 year wait has also left a little sorrow for the Indian cricket fans as their most favorite players Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma bid adieu to the shorter format.

Pictures of both these stars after winning the trophy are now going viral on the internet. During the presentation ceremony, announcing his retirement, Virat Kohli said, "This was my last T20 World Cup, and this is what I wanted to achieve. I told Rohit, before walking into bat, one day you feel like you can't run and then you go out and things happen, this is my last T20 game and I wanted to make the most of it."
Rohit Sharma also announced his retirement from T20Is during the post match interview and said, "This is my last T20I game as well. I have enjoyed it since the time I started playing this format and no better time to say goodbye to this format."

Both Rohit and Virat share a deep bond and mutual respect for each other prompting a wide fan-base for the pair. Fans named the pair "Rohi-Rat" and "Ro-Ko". As they bid farewell to International T20s, let's revisit some of their best moments:
Rohit defending Virat:
Captain Rohit Sharma backed Virat Kohli during an interview, when asked about Virat Kohli not looking confident after century drought. He brushed off the narrative and said, "Virat Kohli ko confidence ki zaroorat hai, kya baat kar rahe ho yaar (Virat Kohli needs confidence, what are you talking my friend)."
Virat defending Rohit:
Back in the day when Virat was the captain, a journalist asked Kohli, if he would drop Rohit from the T20 side, to which he replied sharply (Backing Rohit ofcourse) saying "will you drop Rohit Sharma from T20s?" "Come on" (smiles)
Rohit lifting Kohli:
After a mesmerising innings by Virat Kohli against arch rivals Pakistan in the T20 WOrld Cup's Super 12 game, Rohit Sharma rushed into the ground to lift Virat on his shoulders. Marking one of the memorable moments in Indian cricket history.

After Rohit Sharma's unbeaten knock of 208*, Virat Kohli bows down to him at the boundary line, showcasing their camaraderie.

Kept calm after watching him bat:
Virat Kohli in an interview said that he is a big fan of Rohit and shared a story. He said, "there was a lot of buzz around a young player, and wondered why there was so much hype even when I was a youngster." With that curiosity, he said "went to see Rohit bat and then I understood and kept quiet."

Interestingly, Rohit and Virat are the only players from India to score more than 4,000 runs in T20 internationals. Rohit Sharma with 4,231 runs is the leading run scorer in T20Is, while Kohli with 4,188 is second in line.
