Chamundeswaranath gifts car to shuttler N Sikki Reddy

Hyderabad: Badminton Association of Telangana vice-president V. Chamundeswaranath on Tuesday announced a car as reward for shuttler N. Sikki Reddy, who returned from the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia, with a mixed team event gold medal and women’s doubles bronze with Ashwini Ponnappa as her partner.

“Sikki has been gifted a Ford Ecosport in recognition of her consistent performance over the past five years,” Chamundi, who has also given away high-end cars to successful sportspersons such as Saina Nehwal, Srikanth Kidambi, P. V. Sindhu, Sania Mirza, 2016 Rio Olympics medallist wrestler Sakshi Malik and gymnast Dipa Karmakar in the past, said at a press conference held at the Pullela Gopichand Academy here to celebrate the Indian badminton contingent’s successful show at the CWG.
