Olympic win added more responsibilities: P V Sindhu
Talking about life after the Olympic victory, she said, As you grow in stature, responsibilities and expectations grow too''.
While interacting with students of different schools in Hyderabad at the Oakridge Mock United Nations Conference recently, Olympic silver medallist P.V. Sindhu left everyone amazed with her motivational speech. “Set your goals, work hard, be focused and dedicated, and don’t be deterred by setbacks,” advised Sindhu, emphasising on sports being a good way to remain healthy.
“My journey was tough and involved a lot of hard work. We stayed in Secunderabad and the academy was in Gachibowli. For several years, I travelled nearly 56 km daily — morning and evening — to keep up with the schedules. During that phase and even later, I never thought I would reach here, but I kept working towards what I aspired for,” she revealed.
Talking about life after the Olympic victory, she said, “As you grow in stature, responsibilities and expectations grow too. Every time I go to a tournament, I am expected to win. But it doesn’t always happen. Therefore, I believe in giving my best shot and leaving the rest.”
