BWF World Championships: Sai Praneeth advances to second round
Sai Praneeth was the first to begin India’s challenge at the World Championships.
Mumbai: Indian shuttler B Sai Praneeth overcame Canada’s Jason Anthony Ho Shue 21-17, 21-16 to enter Round 2 of the BWF World Championship in Switzerland. He got the job done in 39 minutes with a smash down the line to earn the final point and beat Ho Shue.

Sai Praneeth was the first to begin India’s challenge at the World Championships. Others who will play today are Kidambi Srikanth, H.S. Prannoy and Sameer Verma for men’s singles and Jakkampudi Meghana and Poorvisha S Ram for women’s doubles.
There is also a possibility that PV Sindhu and Saina Nehwal could face each other in the last-four after they got a bye in the first round.
