Hyderabad: Top seed Saina Nehwal was unceremoniously dumped in straight games by Chinese third seed Yihan Wang while men’s shuttler H.S. Prannoy advanced to the final at the Swiss Open Grand Prix in Basel, Switzerland, on Saturday.
In the women’s singles semifinals, Saina was comprehensively outplayed by the Chinese player, losing 11-21, 19-21 to bring down curtains on her campaign.
Earlier in the day, Prannoy, seeded 13th, defeated Chinese Taipei’s Tzu Wei Wang 12-21, 21-14, 23-21. He will face either Marc Zweibler or Henri Hurskanein for the title.
