Glasgow: India’s Kidambi Srikanth eased to the third round of the ongoing World Badminton championship after a 21-9, 21-17 win over Lucas Corvee on Wednesday.

Srikanth, who won the Indonesia open recently, finished the match in just 32 minutes to seal a spot in the pre-quarterfinal of the tournament.

The Frenchman was completely toothless in the first game despite equalling Srikanth at 3-3 in the start, losing by 21-9 in the end.

Corvee looked unconvincing performance in the second game as well, with Srikanth taking a lead of 11-7. However, it was not the result he would favour as Srikanth wrapped the game at 21-17.

Srikanth, who is unbeaten for 12 matches now,  will next face 14th seed Anders Antonsen for a berth in the quarterfinal, which will be played on Thursday.
