Watch: Kohli, Maxwell chat up a storm

Sydney: One of India’s heroes Down Under Virat Kohli has opened up on a hectic past couple of months and India’s historic T20 series sweep recently.

“It has been pretty hectic this time around, with playing and travelling, and playing in different time zones. We haven’t had too much time off this time but I always try and go out in Australia. I love the country, the vibe and the people,” Kohli, who was awarded the Player of the T20 series said during a chat with Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell on the latest edition of Maxi’s Blog.

In the video on Cricket Australia’s website, Kohli also opened up about his equation with Indian icon Sachin Tendulkar, his on-filed banter with Aussie James Faulkner and his experiences in the Indian Premier League.

"I started playing cricket because of him and I was inspired to do the things that he did playing for the country," Kohli, who made his international debut in 2008 said.

"He really helped me with little things that I could improve on in my game. If he saw something he would come up to me himself and tell me, which is quite rare. You don't have people of his stature come up and talk to youngsters like that," he pointed out.

The Delhi-born player was all praise of how the IPL has brought international rivals closer together than ever before.

"If I didn't know Starcy I would have never known what a sweet guy he is," Kohli said of his Royal Challengers Bangalore teammate Mitchell Starc.

"You form perceptions without knowing people and I think the IPL lets you lift those boundaries and actually be friends with people who you play against," he added.
