Joe Root to be dad soon, to miss start of India ODI series
The MS Dhoni-led Indian side will take on Eoin Morgan and Co. in a three match ODI series starting on January 15 in Pune.
Mumbai: England will be without the services of their star batsman Joe Root in the beginning of the ODI series against India after it was revealed that he and his partner Carrie Cotterell are expecting their first child.
Root, who was England’s leading run-getter in the five-match Test series against Virat Kohli-India, has opted to stay with partner Carrie who will be entering the final stages of pregnancy, a report in The Mail said.
Following a Christmas break after the conclusion of five-match Test series, England are scheduled to arrive in India on Thursday which happens to be the possible date of arrival of the baby.

The England and Wales Cricket Board are yet to make any official announcement about Root’s delay to join the England side.
