Mumbai: He lost both his arms in a tragic accident when he was eight. But that didn’t stop Amir Hussain Lone from playing cricket.

The accident happened in his father’s sawmill.

Bashir, his father, made cricket bats but little did he know that the willow would shape his disabled son’s future.

He had to pay for Amir’s treatment making bats and now, the 26-year-old is the skipper of Jammu and Kashmir para-cricket team.

Amir holds the bat between his neck and shoulder and bowls with his toes. He had to tolerate a lot once he started playing the sport. People made fun of him but he still didn’t give up.

Amir couldn’t even eat without his hands but he decided to pick up a cricket bat.

As a child, he used to play with the sawmill when his hands got entangled inside.

He was hospitalised for three years and the family had to sell off everything to pay his medical fee.

Amir is a fan of Sachin Tendulkar and wants to play like the Master Blaster.
