ICC CWC\'19: Rohit Sharma smashes 4 tons in one World Cup, most by any Indian batsman

Mumbai: Rohit Sharma, who has been in phenomenal form in ongoing ICC World Cup 2019 scored his fourth century of the tournament to break former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly's record of most centuries in one World Cup.

Ganguly had scored three centuries in 2003 World Cup.

Rohit Sharma scored his previous three centuries in ICC World Cup 2019 against
hosts England, arch-rivals Pakistan and South Africa.

With his fourth century, Rohit Sharma equalled the record for most centuries in a World Cup with Kumar Sangakkara. Sangakkara had scored four consecutive centuries in the previous World Cup in 2015.

Rohit also surpassed Australian opener David Warner to become the highest run-scorer in the World Cup.

Rohit had also smashed a century in India's first World Cup defeat to hosts England on Sunday. A win against Bangladesh would ensure a semi-final spot for the Men in Blue.
