Matheesha Pathirana's family credits team efforts for win

Matheesha Pathirana's family has given credit for Sri Lanka's victory against Bangladesh in the Asia Cup on Thursday to the team. The 20-year-old right-arm fast bowler grabbed four wickets which ensured the collapse of the Bangladesh team.

Speaking exclusively to this Reporter from overseas, Matheesha's sister Vishuka said, "Sri Lanka has a really good bowling side, but all these records are a result of collective efforts of the whole team.So we are looking forward to achievements in the team".

Msatheesa's four wicket-haul included the wickets of senior batters (skipper Shakib Al Hasan and wicketkeeper Mushfique Rahim). It was the 11th consecutive time, the Sri Lankan team has bowled out the opponent team. No other team has achieved this before.

"My brother did his job well as a team member, and the team nailed it together", she adds.

"Yes,our family watched the match yesterday (at the ground) except for me. I watched online, as I am out of the country", she concluded.
