Mumbai: Cricketer Mohammad Kaif who came under criticism on Twitter for posting a picture of ‘Surya Namaskar’ has found support from Indian bowler Mohammed Shami.

Kaif became a target of fanatics for doing the yoga asanas as he was trolled for not following Islam.

The batsman defended his action saying, "In all 4pics, I had Allah in my heart. Cant understand what doing any exercise, Surya Namaskar or Gym has to do with religion. It benefits ALL."

Pacer Shami provided support to Kaif on the social media for replying to trolls. Shami tweeted, “@MohammadKaif Proud of you kaif bhai kiya bat hai..Good for health Surya Namaskar is complete work out fr the physical system.”

Kaif had lent support to Shami, when the Indian cricketer himself was trolled for posting a picture with his wife Hasin Jahan, who was seen ‘not wearing hijab’.

The duo was criticised some members on the social media platform with one of them saying: “Sharm aani chahie shami, marna h ek din ye mat bhulo bibiyo ko kaise rakha jaye apne sathi cricker pathan brothar se sikho.” (“Shami, you should be ashamed. Don’t forget, you will die one day. You must learn from your fellow cricketers, Pathan brothers, that how one should treat their wives.”)

Kaif took to Twitter to say that “the comments are really really Shameful.”

The Indian pacer clearly was in no mood to let the trolls slow him down as he posted another picture of the two on the first day of the New Year and wished his followers.
