Indian opening batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal has earned a nomination for the prestigious ICC Emerging Cricketer of the Year award, capping off an impressive 2023 campaign. The list of nominees includes South Africa's Gerald Coetzee, Sri Lanka's Dilshan Madushanka, and New Zealand's Rachin Ravindra.

Jaiswal's standout year featured a remarkable IPL 2023, where he emerged as the fifth-highest run-scorer with 625 runs in 14 matches, boasting an average of 48.07 and a striking rate of 163.61. This stellar performance paved the way for his inclusion in the Indian Test and T20I squads. His international contributions included a century and a fifty in Test matches and three fifties along with another century in T20Is. Jaiswal was also a crucial part of India's victorious squad in the Asian Games 2023.

Rachin Ravindra, the New Zealand all-rounder, secured his nomination after an outstanding display in the 2023 ODI World Cup, accumulating 578 runs at an impressive average of 64.22 in 10 matches. Notably, he made a memorable ODI World Cup debut, scoring 123 runs off 96 balls against the 2020 champions, England. His performance earned him a lucrative contract with the Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2024. Ravindra's all-around prowess was evident with 820 runs and 18 wickets in ODIs, along with 91 runs and 5 wickets in T20Is in 2023.

Gerald Coetzee, the South African pacer, also received a nomination following his standout performances in the 2023 ODI World Cup, where he claimed 20 wickets in eight matches with an impressive strike rate of 19.05. In 2023, Coetzee continued to impress with 31 wickets in ODIs, 10 wickets in Tests, and six wickets in T20Is. His stellar World Cup showing led to a notable IPL contract with the Mumbai Indians, who secured his services for Rs 4.80 crore.

Sri Lanka's Dilshan Madushanka completes the list of nominees, showcasing his talent during the 2023 ODI World Cup with 21 wickets in nine matches. Mumbai Indians recognized his potential, adding him to their roster for the 2023 IPL season. In 2023, Madushanka claimed 15 ODI wickets with an economy of 24.06 and 12 T20I wickets with an economy of 9.80.

These emerging talents have left a lasting impression with their performances, making the race for the ICC Emerging Cricketer of the Year award highly competitive.
