Notice to BCCI on Sreesanth plea for reinstatement
The court also issued notice to the Central government and Kerala Cricket Association.
Kochi: The Kerala High Court on Friday issued notice to Board of Cricket Control Board of India (BCCI) based on a petition filed by former Indian Test Player and world cup winner S. Sreesanth seeking a directive to the Board to lift the life ban imposed on him. The court also issued notice to the Central government and Kerala Cricket Association. According to Sreesanth, the Patiala Sessions court had discharged him from the police case so the ban imposed on him should be revoked.
He informed the high court that he had sent legal notices to the board on February 16, 2017 but the board is yet to respond to it. Sreesanth also sought NOC after Scotland's Glenroth Club invited him for playing a league match there from the first week of April this year, for which the NOC (no-objection certificate) from the BCCI was mandatory. He sought NOC to participate in the premier league on February 11, there had been no response. Sreesanth played 27 Test matches and 53 One Day Internationals for India.
