Mumbai: A weak and depleted Sri Lankan team has been battered and bruised by two (in fact three counting the World Cup warm up match) successive defeats at the hands of Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.

The Sri Lankan team is totally down and out, the unit is totally clue-less and doesn’t have any idea about what changes should it make to make sure this team clicks in this world Cup. The Sri Lankan unit has been totally dependent on its two old and experienced stalwarts, Angelo Matthews, and Lasith Malinga for too long.

The youngsters need to ramp up their performances to reduce the burden that is being carried by Matthews and Malinga. If the youngsters take the onus on themselves then the Lankan outfit will be able to at least put some fight.

However, that day the bowlers didn’t click well as the Australians chased down the target without having too much hiccups.
