India sends junior players to press conference, media skips it
The frustrated group of journalists collectively decided to call off a press conference.
Mumbai: The Indian team had to cut short a practice session when rain poured over the Ageas Bowl in Southhampton. Using the opportunity a large group of journalists looked forward to a press conference during the incident.
But the media contingent was left disappointed when the Indian team management informed the group that two net bowlers Avesh Khan and Deepak Chahar will be present for the press conference.
Offended, the media contingent protested the presence of the two players who were not a part of the Indian team squad and the absence of Coach Ravi Shastri and Skipper Virat Kohli. The frustrated group collectively decided to call off the press conference.
When asked about the unavailability of senior players by the senior journalists, the management replied that this was done considering India’s campaign at the world cup hadn’t started yet.
The journalists will now look forward to Tuesday’s mandatory Press Conference ahead of the South Africa clash.
